BEST Part of Putting HOLIDAY Decorations Away!

Taking Holiday Decorations down is so much faster than putting them up...WHY? I like to recreate my decor starting with a CLEAN Canvas!   And so how much does this process cost? (Just a little info and history. I had a passion for home decorating but I was advised to be a teacher, nurse, or office manager just in case I should ever want to work outside of the home.) Back to this story, I also like to create on a limited budget and enjoy sharing my thriftiness.

 Best Design Decision

After many years of use of several pieces of upholstered furniture, I decided to have slipcovers made that are easy to clean and are NEUTRAL in color.  This furniture is still in great condition and the color allows me more freedom to “play” with my house.

Now I Have a Clean Canvas to Design

I actually enjoy looking at rooms that are empty for a few days or even weeks.  Almost every room in our house is neutral.  So my fun begins!  I visit my stash of “stuff” in my lower level.

Oh dear...everything is transitional!  As I do enjoy design, but not clutter, I may rotate some of my favorite objects, or repurpose using paint, new fabric, or resize.  As the years roll by, many styles come back. I enjoy knowing that most of my furnishings, accessories, etc. are transitional.
