Bathtubs are Missing in Owner Suites

REMOVE THE TUB and DECREASE the Value?

Many of my clients ask me if I think removing a large tub in the owner’s suite will decrease the value of their home for resale?  Interesting question and the answer has changed in the last few years.  I just sold a rather large home with 5 bedrooms and only one bathtub on the property.  The one bathtub was in a Jack and Jill Suite….yes, you need at least one bathtub!   I have had to remind clients that babies can not stand in a shower. Being a Realtor is sometimes an interesting but fun and rewarding career. I try to edge around being a family planner or marriage counselor.

What do WE do with the Extra Space?

We decided to remove our large tub just a few years ago as we wanted a larger walk-in shower.

Love this change.  We never used the tub as it took so long to fill, and we really didn’t have time to enjoy it. Our daughters enjoyed it and the grandchildren thought it was a pool. But now I love the look of our bathroom without the tub.
