A Familiar Sound From the Past

It all Started with My GREAT Grandfather Schauseil

I have shared that many of my favorite things were found on treasure hunts at my Great Grandparents’ house.  I never saw these Christmas Bells but I certainly heard them every Christmas Eve.  They sounded so real...I was convinced that Santa was flying right over our house on Second Street in Waverly, Ohio.  I heard them year after year not ever doubting the authenticity.  I had no idea that they were handed down through my family for many years.

      The Mystery was Solved

As I was going through THINGS with my mother through one of her many downsizing moves, I found these bells in her basement. I knew they sounded familiar.  The leather was old and cracked but the bells certainly had the same sound.  As the years have gone by, the leather has become more fragile so they have become part of the year round décor. And my daughters say, “Can you ever imagine helping Mom downsize?” I never knew how working with my brother in helping my mother downsize several times would help me in my encore career as a Realtor. These experiences truly helped my more sensitive to their feelings. I repeat…”Your home is a home, not a product to market for top dollar. Let the transformation begin when you are ready to go to market”.
