Homeschooling to Stop Soon

Countdown Has STARTED

So as many of our friends and family know, Emily and Adrian have left NYC for a time to be free from Pandemic Confinement.  It has been educational to watch them Zoom to work each day...long hours due to time zones, short breaks to get coffee, discussions about work environments and culture during our dinners...if they can eat together. I know George and I have learned so much by just listening.  Times have certainly changed.

Teachers to Take Off

Our teachers, Emily and Adrian are completing their checklist to prepare for their exciting adventure...traveling to Airbnb stops across the country to continue work but break some of the monotony.  From the snow to the ocean...work all day and experience a new part of the US.  They just took their car...haven’t had a car in NYC...to get it tuned up for the drive.  They purchased  a “pop up desk” as some of their new temporary homes only have one workstation. Skis are being packed and of course, Henry the 14 year old Chihuahua.

Cram Session

Although we have certainly enjoyed this time and we both have learned so much, we are making a list of concepts, simple tasks...and more that we would like to learn before they set out.  Many are related to technology, television today, and use or value of small kitchen appliances.  For the last few years Emily and I have written our yearly goals over a bottle of vino. This year, Emily has suggested I write a vision statement.  Interesting enough, she always seems to achieve all of her goals and then there is me.  I LOVE her help when we sit down...she is helping me grow up with a positive direction.

 The Chance of a Lifetime

George and I are so excited for them as they start this adventure.  Yes, probably a chance of a lifetime.  We feel so blessed to have Emily to spend this much time with us, never expecting to have either of our daughters to live with us as grown women.  Such a pleasure to see some of the results of parenting.  And another chance of a lifetime is to get to know Adrian, an amazing man.
