IT IS BETTER TO WEAR OUT THAN TO RUST OUT
My Yoga instructor just shared “It is Better to Wear OUT than to RUST OUT” in class last week. She really reminded me that this is so true! As I “grow up” I truly enjoy learning even more today. Having a reason to apply and integrate knowledge in a real world situation with an authentic evaluation…such teacher talk. In my encore career as a realtor, I am tested and evaluated by every client I meet. And I must admit I love the challenge.
I am loving the synergy I feel when attending “The Business of Blogging” taught by Eryn Gilson, better known as 614 Mom. It is not only the content and instruction but the time spent with amazing women entrepreneurs. Not only the how and why of blogging but the individual stories of how these young women are growing, tweaking, managing, reinventing, and continually improving their own business. I must admit I am learning a new vocabulary and being a kinetic learning, I have to repeat and learn from trial and error when it comes to technology. Embracing my age and continuing to learn together is empowering.
Eryn Gilson, founder and creative director of 614 Mom, has found her passion in supporting local businesses and empowering women through her work. She carefully curates site content to provide value and ensure relevancy to her readers. She is an excellent teacher that really has the gift of sharing her passion for learning. Eryn is very modest when it comes to sharing her accomplishments. I think the woman does it all. I highly recommend checking out the classes that Eryn teaches...new ones seem to appear as her creative mind never seems to stop.

Several class members had left successful careers to start their own business to improve life balance.
The class was held at Haven Collective, a shared workspace where members can relax and do their best work. Kids clubs (childcare), networking opportunities, meeting rooms, shared office spaces and the list could go on. Flexible memberships are available to help accommodate different needs. I enjoyed watching success or disappointment…someone was always listening with an understanding heart.
Haven Collective just opened a new building downtown Columbus. that is more available for convenience to business and government offices. Space for someone that has a side hustle…just learned this term.
