ONE Child, One Mother, One Gaga, One Book, and One Bribe...This was not EASY!

Reading+time.jpg

My Situation:  I had spent time bringing in props (motivational items) that I was sure would catch my grandson’s eyes.  I selected the book as I thought it would be something we could both relate to. I had the advantage of having his mother on the other end to help motivate and support my efforts.  I also had the advantage of being able to BRIBE Eli to complete reading the book…..Grandmothers can do that! I had a strong relationship with my student, Eli, before we started the lesson.

Eli finished the book but it was much more difficult to hold his attention than I thought it would be.  This was our first time for Eli to read to me and his mother feels he will do better each time we meet on Facebook Portal.

Please support TEACHERS in this Challenging Time…This is not EASY!

Classroom Teacher:  Teachers do not select the lessons/books/materials that they will use to teach a lesson.  Teachers are teaching more than one student at a time.  There may not be anyone at home with the student to support the lesson and/or teacher.  It takes time in a classroom for a teacher to be able to build rapport with each student...the MAGIC that enables a teacher to do the BEST job.  Parents don’t always provide feedback to teachers to help the teacher improve teaching in a very new way. Students do not easily have the opportunity to discuss the lessons with each other.
